Government Programs

The Commonwealth of Pennsylvania developed many Home and Community-Based Services that have been made available through UDS. We can help you determine your eligibility based on your specific needs and financial situation.

Home and Community-Based Services are available to enable individuals with physical disabilities to live independently in their own home instead of a facility or nursing home. UDS serves over 30 counties in Pennsylvania. There are programs for individuals with disabilities age 18-59, and others for individuals age 60 and older with disabilities. Most of the programs are funded through the state Office of Long Term Living. Some Home and Community-Based Services are called "Waivers" because the federal government waives rules in order for the state to provide services to people at home and in their communities as opposed to facilities or nursing homes.
