Autism Waiver

The Autism Waiver, funded by the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania, Bureau of Autism Services is designed for adults, age 21 and older, diagnosed with an Autism Spectrum Disorder. The goal is to improve their quality of life by enabling them to live independently in the community. Additionally, the Waiver is intended to help them seek and maintain employment.

Priority is given to individuals who are not currently receiving ongoing state or state and federally funded long-term care services.

UDS is a certified Supports Coordination Agency and can manage and direct the services offered by the Waiver. The Supports Coordinator will also conduct reevaluations annually so that services can be adapted to the individual's changing needs.

Eligibility
Adults age 21 and older, living in Pennsylvania, who have a diagnosis of Autism Spectrum Disorder are eligible. The individual must meet Medical Assistance financial disability and be eligible for Intermediate Care Facility level of care. Initial applications are completed through the Bureau of Autism Services.
